Fourth Biz Week is fighting fit
The region’s business event of the year was the biggest and best ever. Business Week 2008 took place over seven days from Friday, May 30th to Friday, June 6th.
This year there were a staggering 19 events, 51 speakers, 200 businesses, 6,000 delegates and endless opportunities for the Humber region’s business community.
This year saw our highest-profile speakers to date – George Foreman, Gerald Ratner, Elle Macpherson and Gordon Ramsay amongst them – and culminated in Sir Bob Geldof whipping audiences into a frenzy when he took to the stage at the Gemtec Arena, bringing the Yorkshire International Business Convention and the week to a stunning close.
Before then we had a host of seminars, exhibitions, networking and business development opportunities aimed at small businesses, large companies, educators and public sector organisations.
Business Week 2008 was dedicated to Jo Martin, joint managing director of protective clothing company Arco, who died in February. Jo was a true inspiration to everyone in the business community and a great supporter of Business Week.
The news section of the Business Week 2008 website contains an archive of the media coverage for the event and all of the press releases issued about this great event.
Due to the ongoing success of the YIBC, you’re advised to book your place at next year’s event early by visiting www.yibc.biz
At Business Week 2008 there were, literally, events for anyone and everyone with an interest in business success and in creating an enterprise culture across Hull, the East Riding, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire. Thank you for joining us and being a part of the success of Business Week 2008.

Very best
Mike and Paul
